Consultation has concluded
The Bear Valley CSD is creating a guidebook for new residents. The goal is to help them get comfortable in their new community and avoid some of the confusion that has been part of the process for residents in the past.
This is a living document that will be updated each year. A small group of residents has consented to provide an outside perspective and critique the initial guidebook.
one is nearing retirement and has livestock/pets (moved to BVS in 2019)
one has a family with school-aged children and pets (moved to BVS in 2021)
one is the owner of a large, active social media community group with a great deal of experience helping and answering questions from new residents.
Although the consultation began on this site, it moved to direct messaging due to the need to repeatedly share files and make real-time corrections to the document.
This first edition project has no budget of its own. Approximately 300 copies will be printed from the District's Administrative budget.

The New Residents' Guide has been approved, 3 quotes obtained, and it has been sent off to a local printer. The cost for 300 copies is $1,649.78. That 300 number is the average number of new residents we have coming into the valley each year. The printed guides will be included in our New Resident's packages and the electronic version made available online.
